Sony Xperia Z Ultra has joined the vanilla android crowd as well. The phone is branded as the Google Play Edition for Xperia Z Ultra, available to the customers with a £394 price tag attached to it. This Google Play Edition is similar to the one that was announced by Sony in June with a single difference in the android 4.4 KitKat software.

The Xperia Z Ultra GPe has the same 6.4 inches screen with 1920 X 1080 pixel resolution. It maintains a slim 6.5 mm thick and 212 gram figure. As we know from the specs, this Smartphone is packed with a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm quad core processor along with 2 GB RAM.

There is an internal storage capacity of 16 GB which can be expanded further with an external microSD card. The large sized phone is packed with decent camera specs which include an 8 MP rear camera sensor and a 2 MP front facing snapper. It gets power supply from a Lithium polymer battery weighing 3,000 mAh which is efficient enough to keep this phone working for hours.

In order to provide biggest phone to the consumers, Sony has designed the Xperia Z Ultra which is the largest beating out its closest rival Samsung’s Galaxy Mega. The users who want to avail something slightly smaller than these should look for the 6 inch handsets like the 5.9 inch HTC One Max or the 5.7 inch Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra’s Google Play Edition looks appealing to most of us as it runs on the stock Android 4.4. This means that the handset is free from the bloatware and can receive updates faster than any other non Google Play Edition phone.
